Exampel of assignments for the Nordic disability movement<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. NIDS was engaged by Shia\/My Right\u00a0to assist in the\u00a0planning, implementation and follow up of the first three Sida ITP courses “Disability and Human Rights”, for Africa, Asia and MENA regions\u00a0(2007-2008). Together with My Right, NIDS has also developed disability briefs for the Swedish embassies (2012).<\/li>\n
  2. NIDS has been hired to provide organisational development support to DPOs (Disabled peoples’ organisations)\u00a0in Africa, Asia, Latin Amerika and Eastern Europe.<\/li>\n
  3. NIDS has coordinated an intenational\u00a0study of successful projects\u00a0<\/a>for persons\u00a0with developmental disabilities in\u00a0India, Kenya, Rumania and South Africa “Successful projects – what makes them work”.\u00a0\u00a0Researchers in the four countries\u00a0carried out the research in their respective countries and compared notes. Inclusion International and Sida commissioned the\u00a0study.\u00a0Professor Anders Gustavsson, Stockholm University and professor Johans Sandvin, Bod\u00f6 University served as scientific advisors. The study was published in\u00a02007. There is also an easy to read version of the report.<\/li>\n
  4. NIDS has\u00a0been commissioned by WHO and Shia to carry out a study of\u00a0the\u00a0CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) approach from a user perspective<\/a>. This involved programs in three countries (Nepal, Guyana and Ghana). NIDS has also evaluated the large Swedish\/Norwegian support to the\u00a0CBR program in the West Bank and Gaza.<\/li>\n
  5. NIDS has carried out a number of\u00a0evaluations comissioned by Atlas Alliance <\/a>and My Right <\/a>and\u00a0their member organisations. The evaluations focus on\u00a0disability rights\u00a0in Palestine, Nepal, India,\u00a0South Africa, Malawi, Zambia,\u00a0Lesotho, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania\u00a0and Zanzibar. The evaluations have included\u00a0organisational development assessments and assessments of social change processes, attitudes, accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilites in society.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
